Forse ci siamo davvero. Stamattina ho mostrato il sito agli incaricati di esaminarlo ed è piaciuto. Ora lo stanno vagliando accuratamente e mi faranno sapere, ma mi hanno anticipato che già così è a posto ed al massimo ci saranno dei dettagli da sistemare.
Bene, sono contento.
In effetti non è difficile da configurare, ma quando te lo trovi davanti la prima volta il suo file file conf può lasciare spiazzati.

Aaaah! Finalmente ho finito il sito del Dipartimento di Statistica ed Economia Applivate dell’Università di Pavia a cui stavo lavorando.
Niente di astruso e complicato, uno stile semplice e chiaro con un buon accostamento di colori e, finalmente, un unico tema per tutte le pagine, contrariamente al vecchio sito che inspiegabilmente usava un tema diverso per ogni pagina… (non l’ho fatto io quello)

Ieri mi sono accorto di aver fatto una cazzata immane l’ultima volta che ho formattato il portatile. Non ho fatto un backup della cartella dei Fonts.
Normalmente si riesce a recuperarli in qualche modo, da amici, in rete, su vecchi cd o altri backup precedenti. Niente! Stavolta mi è andata male. Malissimo! Ho perso un font fondamentale per il lavoro che avevo fatto sul sito del Dipartimento di Statistica ed Economia Applicata dell’Università di Pavia.
Angoscia… Tristezza… Mestizia… Incazzatura totale!!!
Mi è toccato perdere due giorni per modificare tutte le voci dei menu e tutte le immagini in cui compariva quello stramaledetto font. Già, maledetto. Però bello. Semplicissimo ma d’effetto, e soprattutto altamente leggibile.
Volete sapere di che font sto parlando? Parlo del “FranklinGothicMediumC”, che è più introvabile ed irrangiungibile di Bin Laden; non c’è verso di trovarlo in rete. Non ce l’ha nessuno. O quantomeno non c’è l’ha nessuno pronto per il download.
Va beh, ho risolto sbattendomi di brutto ed utilizzando il simile ma non identico (purtroppo) “FranklinGothicMedium”.
La prossima volta di sicuro mi ricorderò di fare il backup anche della cartella Fonts. O almeno spero.

Può capitare di dover utilizzare (purtroppo!!!) un applicazione Windows usando Linux (nel mio caso Ubuntu 7.04) facendo uso di Wine. Il problema è che un’applicazione sotto Wine è decisamente brutta.
In questa guida vedremo come partire da un’installazione nuova di Wine e rendere il suo aspetto più gradevole, per poi farne una copia di backup da ripristinare occasionalmente.
Quindi se non avete un’installazione nuova di Wine, e non avete programmi installati o ce li avete ma non sono importanti, potete azzerare le vostre impostazioni di Wine (ed i programmi installati) con il comando:
cd ~
rm -rf .wine
Adesso avviate da terminale Wine senza argomenti:
wine
e aspettate che ricrei la directory appena rimossa.
Consiglio di dare anche questo comando:
winecfg
si aprirà il pannello di configurazione, per il momento chiudetelo.
Adesso che abbiamo Wine nuovo possiamo pensare all’aspetto estetico.
Scaricate il tema Royale_theme.tar.gz
Scompattate il file e installatelo dando il comando:
wine RoyaleThemeforWinXP.exe
A questo punto aprite la configurazione di Wine:
winecfg
e nel tab Desktop Integration impostate il tema a Media Center Style.
Applicate e chiudete le applicazioni aperte (per avere lo stile applicato correttamente bisogna riaprire i programmi).
Adesso che abbiamo il nostro tema ci conviene creare una copia di backup da ripristinare al volo. Prima di fare ciò ci conviene settare le impostazioni relative alle unità virtuali e le altre che vogliamo.
Poi facciamo nel terminale:
cd ~
cp -rf .wine .wine.backup
Poi, quando vogliamo resettare la nostra installazione di Wine senza reinstallare il tema (ma perdendo tutti i programmi comunque):
cd ~
rm -rf .wine
cp -rf .wine.backup .wine
